Again, it all boils down to good hygiene. All the hair dyes and cuts in the world won’t make a difference if your hair looks unhealthy. Here are some basic hair care tips for women to keep your hair looking healthy and gorgeous:

1.    Use quality shampoo.

Choose a shampoo that best suits your hair type. Different shampoos work differently on hair types, so it’s important to understand what type of care your hair needs. For example, if you have dry hair, you may want to look for shampoos with collagen and glycerine to add extra moisture. Curly or frizzy hair can be maintained with frizz-minimizing or softening shampoo. Also, quality shampoo need not be expensive, as long as it works for your hair type.

2.    Condition your hair depending on your hair type.

The same with picking your shampoo, consider your hair type, length and even the treatment damage when picking out a conditioner. If you have treated or colored hair, you may need to condition more than usual. Apart from regular conditioning, try deep conditioning at least once a week.

3.    Take care when brushing.

Don’t brush your hair too much, as it may do more harm than good. Also, take special care when untangling hair after a shower. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle hair after washing.

4.    Dry hair naturally.

After showering, pat your hair gently with a towel and squeeze hair gently. Avoid rubbing your hair with a towel because this weakens the hair follicle and makes hair dull and brittle. Go easy on the hair dryer as well, as excess heat can cause damage to the hair.

5.    Regularly trim hair.

Trim your hair once every six to eight weeks or so. It helps keep your hair healthy by snipping away split-ends that may impede healthy hair growth and weaken your hair.

Keep these basic tips in mind and your hair will definitely love you back.
